Depending upon whose statistics you use, there are an estimated 43 to 90 million family caregivers in the U.S. That’s up to almost 30 percent of the total population!
Caregiving touches everyone’s lives.
Why? Because it’s likely that either you will be a caregiver during your lifetime or you’ll need one… or both.
With predictions of Alzheimer’s and other debilitating diseases escalating as more and more of the “Baby Boomers” generation reach retirement age, the need for family caregivers will only increase.
Who cares for the caregivers who often are toiling day in and day out with little or no support?
Too often no one.
That’s why we’ve started the Caregiving Heroes Movement to honor them and to get them the help and support they need. And it starts by learning their stories and finding out who they are.
Did you know that less than 20 percent of caregivers identify themselves as caregivers?
Why? Because they consider themselves adult children, spouses, other family members or friends.
If you’re a caregiver or know one, join us on our Facebook Caregiving Heroes Page. Share your story, your tips and your challenges or problems.
