What is the Caregiving Heroes Story Contest?
It’s a contest where caregivers or those who care about them can share their stories and be eligible to win prizes.
To build a community of support and to help caregivers recognize who they are, what they do is important and most of all that they’re not alone.
Did you know that of the estimated 43 to 90 million family caregivers in the U.S. that less than 20 percent of them identify themselves as caregivers? That’s more than 34 to 72 million caregivers who don’t realize they’re caregivers, and likely don’t know where to turn for help and support.
It’s no wonder one of their major concerns is feeling isolated and alone! At Caregiving With Purpose we want to change that through the Caregiving Heroes Facebook Page and Story Contest.
Yes, it’s a busy time of year. It really only takes a few minutes to enter, and you can show your appreciation for a caregiver you care about without costing you a dime.
Entering is actually easier than you think!
You can submit a story through text or video. There’s even a fill in the blank submission guidelines. You don’t have to stick to them, although they can make submitting your story easy.
If you submit the story of a friend who’s a caregiver, what a nice gift for this time of year! You can tell him or her how much their caregiving means, and you might just win some prizes for him or her!
- My name is ___ (first name or a nickname okay) and I care for my ___.
- I started giving care when _______.
- What I like most about caregiving is ___.
- What I like least about caregiving is ___.
- If you want you can also share a story about your caregiving. And you don’t have to stick to this template.
You can submit the story by typing it into the blank (or copy and paste from another program if you prefer) or a video. The video needs uploaded to You Tube, Vimeo or Instagram and insert the link into the video link box.
Be sure to vote daily and have your friends vote for your story.
That’s it! You get extra points for the Refer a Friend option after you submit your story.
Share your caregiving story on the Caregiving Heroes Story Contest to become eligible for some great prizes! The contest ends December 29, 2015 so click here to enter now.
